TOQUERVILLE – Edna Angell Dalton Gifford, age 88, died Nov. 12, 1988, at Dixie Medical Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1899, in Leeds, Utah to George Edward and Rebecca Ann Wilkinson Angell. She married Leonard Dalton June 14, 1917, in the St. George LDS Temple. He died June 28, 1968. She married George Dewey Gifford June 12, 1981, in St. George, Utah.
She spent her early life in Leeds Utah. After her marriage to Mr. Dalton, they moved around mostly Utah and southern Nevada, as Mr. Dalton was a carpenter by trade. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions, mostly in auxiliaries. She served a stake mission to Zion Park Stake and served as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey, of Torquerville, Utah; two sons and four daughters; Maurice Dwane Dalton of Gridley, Calif., Glade Leonard Dalton of Leeds, Utah, Mrs. Rulon (Melba) Mendenhall of Cedar City, Utah, Mrs. Nick (Laura Edrie) Nachos of Hurricane, Utah; Mrs. Junior (Donna) "Bunny" Eager of LaVerkin, Utah, Mrs. W. Howard (Norma) Adams of Los Alamos, N.M. ; 32 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Virginia Coxe of Ione, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the LaVerkin LDS Stake Center. Friends may call at the Hurricane Valley Mortuary Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. and at the Stake Center Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Hurricane Cemetery.
