THATCHER
Floy May Guthrie Thatcher, daughter of Frank and Elsie Guthrie, was born in Wayne County, Iowa, on May 18, 1900, and departed this life at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital, Chariton, on April 3, 1972, at 71 years of age.
At an early age she was saved and baptized, and became a member of Union Church, Bethlehem, Iowa.
On April 12, 1916 she was married to Lester Thatcher, and to this union were born two children: Leo Thatcher, of Chariton, and Lova Storm of Knoxville. There are five grandchildren; Alan, Ann, Tami, Mark and Brian Thatcher.
Floy was a good wife and mother. She dearly loved her family and her home.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Lester; the son, Leo; and the daughter, Lova; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Thatcher, and a son-in-law, Charles Storm; and the grandchildren.
There are four brothers: Howard Guthrie of Gibbon, Nebr.; Henry and James Guthrie, of Chariton; Bernard Guthrie, of Davenport, and two sisters: Nina Davis, of Youkon, Okla., and Leta Van Pelt, of Des Moines.
Also several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends will miss her presence.
Services were held Wednesday April 5, at the Woodman Funeral Home with the Rev. Grover Branson conducting. Burial in Russell cemetery.
