Truman Anderson Services Wednesday
Truman Carlton Anderson, 81, died Sunday at the local nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Anderson was born on November 20, 1893 in Highlandville, Iowa. He served with the First Division, 26th Infantry in World War I and was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star, French Fourragere, and five battle stars.
He graduated from Washington State University where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Zeta, and Crimson Circle. He was Smith Hughes instructor at Berkeley, Washington, and later in the County Agent for eight years in Shoshone, Idaho before joining the Soil Conservation Service in 1936. He lived in Bozeman Montana for 23 years serving as State Conversationalist for the SCS. He moved to Prescott after retirement. In Prescott he was a member of NARFE, a life member of the American Legion, a member of the Westerners, and the American Lutheran Church.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his widow, Ebba; one son, Truman C., Jr., of Linton, N. D.; one daughter, Marjorie Johnson of Apple Valley, Minn.; six grandchildren; four sisters, Gertrude Burnatz, Marie Wangness, Geneva Kroshus, and Kathleen Goodno; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at the American Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, burial to be in the Prescott national cemetery. Friends may call at memory Chapel Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m.
The family has requested no flowers.
