J. Elmer Murray, 38 died at his home three miles north of Floydada, Friday, October 16, from cancer of the stomach. Mr. Murray was a native Texan and had been a resident of this community for twenty years. He married Miss Effie Reed in 1906, and to them was born five children, Lola, Hazel, Juanita, R.D. and Rex, all of whom are now living except R.D.
A mother, nine brothers and a sister were at the bedside when the end came. Others of the family living in Cisco could not visit Mr. Murray during his illness on account of sickness in their own family.
Funeral services were conducted at the cemetery chapel Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Elder J. F. Thay officiating. Burial followed in the Floydada cemetery.
