Mrs. Varner was a native of Charleston and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Jacob H. Varner.
Mr. and Mrs. Varner owned and operated Southern Auto Supplies in Lancaster, SC, for many years beginning in 1946. They moved to the Village at Summerville in 1985.
Mrs. Varner was gentle, joyful Christian whose smile radiated the love of Christ. She had a positive attitude and was happiest when serving others. Her devoted family and friends will miss her presence but rejoice that because of her faith and ours we will meet again.
She was a former member of Second Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC, and a charter member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Charleston and at her death was member of First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, SC.
Mrs. Varner is survived by a daughter, Joan Varner Brockington and husband, George Benjamin Brockington; granddaughter, Susie Brockington Perry and husband, Charles Gordon Perry, IV; granddaughter, Lynda Brockington Lutz and husband, Robert Frank Lutz, Jr. and beloved great-grandson, Benjamin Jacob Lutz. She is also survived by nieces and nephews whose devotion she cherished.
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Edatha Varner are invited to attend her graveside funeral services, February 8, 2012, in Bethany Cemetery at 10 am.
