Wiley T. Jones enlisted in the Confederate Army on April 27, 1864 in Company C, of the First (Fannie) Georgia Reserves State Guard, Which later became The First Georgia Infantry State Guard. Wiley was captured at The Battle of Utoy Creek in Atlanta, Georgia on August 7, 1864 and taken POW. Wiley was taken to Camp Chase Confederate Prison in Columbus, Ohio where he came down with Small Pox. Wiley died at Camp Chase on December 4, 1864 at the age of 37, and is buried there in Row #17 Grave #552. Camp Chase records has Wiley name as Wiley F. Jones, real name is Wiley Thomas Jones.
