Funeral services for Loren E. Harnack, 60, a resident of rural Campbell, were held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls with Revs. Ed Monson and David Veum presiding. Loren passed away on Monday, July 6, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
He was born August 5, 1948, in Long Prairie, to Lawrence and Margie (Aleshire) Harnack. He attended Bertha-Hewitt High School in Bertha, graduating in 1966.
Loren served two years in the U.S. Army, from 1968���1970, and is a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a medic with the Air-Evac NCO.
On December 8, 1973, he married LeRayne Marie Patron in New York Mills. Over the years he was employed as a truck driver and mechanic.
He was a member of VFW Post 612 of Fergus Falls, and the Lake Region Pioneer Threshermen���s Association.
Loren enjoyed all aspects of working with wood. He owned his own sawmill and made his own lumber, turning it into beautiful pieces of furniture and gifts for those around him. He enjoyed deer hunting and took great pleasure in visiting with his friends and close family members.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Margie Harnack, and sister, Carmen.
Survivors include his wife, LeRayne Marie Harnack of Campbell; his son, Christopher (Julianne) Harnack of Crystal; three grandchildren, Kaylee, Isaac and Aaron Harnack; his father, Lawrence Harnack of Eagle Bend; four brothers: Dwayne (Anita) Harnack of Lonsdale, David (Joy) Harnack of Bertha, Randy (Lauren) Harnack of Arab, Alabama, and Rodney Harnack of Little Falls; four sisters: Mardel Faiella of Brainerd, Dee Dee (Richard) Hlatky, Berdie (Robert) Parks and Debbie (Gordy) Bartels, all of Eagle Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Eagle Bend Cemetery.
