Mrs Sarah A Phillips died Wednesday morning of last week at 10:30, at the home of her son JW Phillips of Carrollton MO. Mrs Phillips maiden name was Sarah A Morgan, born in Kentucky 16 Dec 1828. ON 19 Feb 1852 she married NL Phillips who died 7 March 1907. Of this union 9 children were born, 6 of whom are left to mourn her loss. JW Phillips Carrollton MO., DM Phillips Bixby Indian Terr now Oklahoma, Mrs L Phillips of Michigan Valley Kansas, Mrs JL Herren of Carrollton MO, Mrs AL Brady of Oswatomie Kansas, and HH Phillips of Kansas City, one sister Mrs CH Matney of Ada Ohio, 21 grand children and 2 great grand children.
When young she united with the Methodist church and was a faithful Christian. Fourteen years ago last July she was stricken with paralysis, since which time she has been a constant sufferer, having since had several other strokes.
Sunday her condition became serious, and all that doctors and loving hands could do was done to relive her, but it pleased God to call her home, and on Wednesday morning her spirit took it's flight. Though by her death her earthly friends are poorer, heaven is richer, for she was ready to meet her savior.
The funeral was held at the family residence Friday morning conducted by Rev GW Hatcher, after which the remains were interred at Trotter graveyard.
