Braxton Ferrell Griffin, Age 70, of Troy died Monday, July 20, 2009 at Troy Regional Medical Center . Mr. Griffin, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Fat Baby" bravely fought a 16 year battle with heart disease. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Frank Lowery and Reverend Andrew Knick officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Banks Cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Mr. Griffin faithfully served in the Alabama National Guard 117th Field Artillery Division for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Annie Griffin, Brothers, Everett , Bill, Robert, and James Griffin, his father-in-law, Isaac "Hoss" Ming. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Griffin, Daughters and Sons-in-law, Wendy and Gary Hughes, Alison and Scott Sanders, Granddaughter, Morgan Olivia Sanders, Grandson, Brady Scott Sanders, Sister, Sarah Knight, Mother-in-law, Mary Ming, Several sisters and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews and their families. Serving as Pallbearers will be J W Davenport, Paul Knight, Jimmy Reynolds, Tommy Scarbrough, Bobby Sexton, and Jeff Tate.
