The Rev. John N. Lindsey married Martha Ann Johnson on July 26, 1832 in Christian County, KY. They had 10 children: America E. born in 1883, Columbus F. in 1837, Harriett Altazera in 1837, Archibald "Archie" Romulus in 1839, Hester A. in 1845, Dovie Angeline in 1847, Lucy "Jenny" Virginia in 1850, John William Hickman in 1852, Burdine Virgin in 1856 and Marion "Bud" Harrison in 1859.

Besides a minister, John also was a farmer and last residence was in Honey Grove, KY.
