William F. Mullen (sometimes known as Frank Mullen) died 7 April 1924 in Randolph County, Indiana. In his obituary [unknown source]:
"Retired Minister Dead at Farmland"
The Reverend Frank Mullen, eighty-six, a retired minister of Farmland, died at the home of his step-son, Oris [sic, Orlando/Orla] Leonard of East South Street, here Thursday morning following a short illness with pneumonia. The deceased was a member of the 84th Indiana Volunteers in the Civil War. The [second] wife [Lydia J. Parks Leonard Mullen] was dangerously sick the same time and died that evening. Included in the list of survivors are the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Sallie Davis, Mrs. Nettie Wells and Mrs. Cortner; two sons, Elmer and Alonzo Mullen of Farmland, and two brothers John Mullen of Muncie and Elkhanah Mullen of Farmland; one sister, Mrs. Christine Fall, of Farmland and two step-sons, Ulysses Leonard of Farmland and Orla Leonard of Winchester.

Mr. Mullen served for many years as pastor of the Farmland Christian Church. He was buried at Maxville Cemetery (Woodlawn); his cemetery inscription reads William F. Mullen: Co A 84th Ind Inf. His [first] wife Catharine J. Mullen is buried there "wife of W.F. Mullen died 8 June 1881 age 39 years 6 days 3 months" on her tombstone:
"A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled"s/o Elder Larkin and Martha Mullen, married Catherine Driver d/o Jacob Driver and 2nd in 1882 Lydia Parker
