Married Anna Douglas HARPER (1873-1940). Anna was born and died in Wisconsin.

Buffalo County Journal

Again the dark shadow of death hovers over a happy home, which was entered by the Death Angel the harbinger of that profound grief and deep sorrow, which can be felt but not described. Helpless, forlorn and dejected do we submit to the stern edict when the grim reaper demands his toll and with relentless severity exacts sacrifices, which drive those who are forced to make them, to the limits of despair. But this is nature's course, all life must bow to this edict and as the ripening grain falls before the stroke of the scythe and the tender plant is crushed by an untimely frost so is the life of man wiped out when the hour strikes, be it in early childhood, ripe manhood or old age. Death means the parting from a loved one and brings with it sorrow and pain, no matter whether the one called hence be one in the enjoyment of youth or one advanced in years but doubly sad is his coming when a home is made fatherless and a young mother with little children who are yet dependent upon the care and devotion of a father, is left to care for her little flock alone, bereft of the guiding hand and strong arm that is to assist her in the arduous task of bringing up the little ones. When a wife is bereft of a loving husband, children of tender age are left fatherless, parents are called upon to mourn for a son and sisters and brothers for a brother, the case is a sad one indeed.

William Ebersold ', who died Sunday morning at his home in the town of Alma, was born at the same place, August 21st, 1883, spent his childhood and school days there and with the exception of a few short temporary absences, lived practically all of his short life where he was born. He was married June 20th, 1905, to Miss Anna Harper ' who with two children of tender age, mourns the demise of a loving and devoted husband and father. About a year ago deceased was taken ill and last summer the family went to Groton, S.D., hoping that a change of climate might bring him relief, but although an apparent improvement was noted, a relapse set in soon after his return and the decline was gradual but certain, until the end came Sunday morning, February 25th.

Besides his sorrowing widow and children, deceased leaves to mourn his untimely demise, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ebersold; two brothers, Rudolf and August, both of this county and four sisters; Mrs. Charles Wiegele, Mrs. H. J. Niehaus, Mrs. Gottlieb Blatter and Mrs. Carl Loechler.

Of a kindly disposition and sunny temperament deceased was a favorite among those who knew him and everyone entertained a kindly feeling toward him, since no act of his ever brought grief or sorrow to anyone, be it then it was unintentional on his part. He was a dutiful son, a kind husband and father, a generous and obliging friend and neighbor and a genial companion.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Heusser, the church choir rendering appropriate songs and interment taking place in the cemetery at Tell. To the bereaved family we extend the most profound sympathy and to the one so soon called hence, we wish a peaceful rest in the bosom of Mother Earth.
