On 13 May 1736, he was mentioned as "my youngest" brother in the will of Zebulon Platt of Huntington.
On 10 May 1741, he was admitted to the church at Redding on the recommendation of Rev. Mr. Chapman.
The will of Timothy Platt was dated 22 September 1784, proved 2 January 1787. Inventory was taken 2 January 1787 and recorded 4 December 1787. The will reads:

I Timothy Platt of Redding in Fairfield County and State of Connecticut in New England being in a weak state as to bodily health but of sound disposing mind and memory; calling to mind my own mortality and knowing that it is appointed to all once to die; to make and ordaine this my last will and Testament and first of all I give my soul into the hand of God who gave it cheerfully trusting in his covenanted mercy in Jesus Christ for the salvation thereof and my body I recommend to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named nothing doubting of the Glorious Resurrection and hoping for eternal Life (through Jesus Christ our Lord) and as touching that worldly estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me, I give bequeath and devise in manner following.
Imprimis. My will is that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be first paid and satisfied.

Item. I will and bequeath to my beloved son Timothy Platt the sum of ten pounds lawfull money (to be his forever) which I suppose will (together with what he had already had) be his proportionable part of my estate besides paying him for the time he served me after he was twenty one years of age.
Item. I will and bequeath to my beloved son Hezekiah Platt over and above what he has already had of my Estate the sum of five shillings lawfull money to be his forever.
Item. I will and bequeath to two of my sons viz Jesse Platt and Zebulon Platt ninety one pounds thirteen shillings each in consideration of their not receiving their proportionable part of my estate so soon after their arriving to the age of twenty one years as my others sons did.
Item. I will and bequeath to [ ^ my] son Zebulon Platt the west end of my dwelling house to be his forever. moreover it is my will that a certain piece of land lying in a place called the Great Meadows which I [deeded to three of my sons viz: Hezekiah, Jesse & Zebulon shall be considered as a part of their portion of my Estate and shall be counted to them at thirty shillings per acre.
Furthermore it is my Will that what I have charged upon my Book of accounts against any of my children shall be reckoned as so much toward their portion as they stand respectively charged.
Item. I will and bequeath to three of my sons viz. Hezekiah Jesse and Zebulon Platt and my two Daughters viz. Abigail the wife of Nathaniel Hull and Anne the wife of Hezekiah Whitelock all the remaining part of my estate if any there should be to be theirs forever but to be divided amongst them in the following proportion viz each of my said sons viz Hezekiah Jesse & Zebulon shall have fifty shillings to each of my said Daughters viz Abigail & Annes twenty shillings and each of my said daughters shall have twenty shillings to [ ^ each] said sons fifty shillings and in this already willed away.
