Services Dec. 17 For Lee Roy Griffin
Services for Lee Roy Griffin, 85, of Mtn. Grove, were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at Craig Hurtt Hutsell Dedmon Funeral Chapel with Warren Duckworth officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Craig Hurtt Hutsell Dedmon.
Lee Roy Griffin, son of William and Jane (Duncan) Griffin, was born in Ozark County June 29, 1897 and died Dec. 14.
He grew up in Ozark County but lived in Mtn. Grove since 1946. He was married to Alice Kimball on June 5, 1924.
Mr. Griffin worked for the Missouri State Highway Department for 19 years and then for the U.S. Postal service. He also served as a municipal judge in Mtn. Grove and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; three sons, Arthur, Mtn. Grove, Dale, Norwood and Don, Oak Grove; two brothers, Floyd, West Plains, and Johnny, Elijah; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Provow, state of Iowa, and Mrs. Wilma Cobb, West Plains; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Mearl and Billy, preceded him in death.
