In 1900 Arthur Hymel Jr., his wife Pauline Rousselle and five of their children are living in New Orleans, La. Ward 15, District 400 where Arthur is working as a day laborer, their stay there was short, they soon moved back to St. Charles Parish where Arthur, Pauline and eight children are living next to his brother Philogene Hymel. Arthur Hymel Jr. worked as a carpenter in 1910 Census. One more child Hubert Hymel would be born and die in Hahnville, St. Charles Parish, La. The family leave by boat to Grand Chenier, Cameron Parish, La. where he is a trapper and fishman. Two children are born there, Jennifer Hymel born and dies Grand Chenier, the youngest Wallace Hymel born Grand Chenier, but dies Lake Arthur La. age of 50. In 1920 the family is uprooted by the hurricane of 1918, this prompted the decision to move by boat, up the Mermentau River to the small village of Lake Arthur, Jefferson Davis Parish, La. Arthur Jr. and son Arthur Hymel 3rd [Pat] are Farm workers. In later years Arthur Hymel Jr. has the Lake Arthur Hunting Club where he and the six sons Lionel, Arthur Jr., William, Richard, Gilbert, Wallace Hymel and there cousin Florine "Pie" Champagne [ Florine was the Duck Calling Champion] made a living as hunting Guides. There wives would cook for the guest hunters. The wealthy sportsmen from up north would eagerly bid for the services of Florine Champagne and the Hymel brothers. One of these sportsmen was President Franklin Delino Roosevelt. The president stayed at the Green House at Meyers Landing.
Arthur Sr. and his wife Pauline Rousselle opens a restaurant over the Lake Arthur and operated it until her death. [It would be Sea Breeze Bar later years]. Arthur's nickname was Hawkeye the cross street near their Restaurant named Hawkeye Ave. after Arthur Hymel.
