SUDDEN DEATH OF ONE OF TEXAS COUNTY'S BEST CITIZENS MONDAY FORENOON -- MR. FRANK FREDERICK

The entire community was greatly shocked by the sudden death of Frank Frederick at his home just east of town Monday forenoon, about 10:30. Mr. Frederick had not been in very good health during past year or more, but this Monday morning he was not complaining and was helping with the work of improvement about his home. He became sick and was helped into the house and to bed; seeming to feel better and the workmen went back to their tasks, when Mrs. Frederick gave the alarm and he had passed on to that great b***** from which no traveler returns.

George Franklin Frederick was a son of Abe and Elizabeth Davis Frederick, was born near Houston, Mo., May 4, 1879, making his age at time of death 68 years, 8 months and 18 days. Most of his life was spent in the immediate vicinity of Houston, except a time when he located in Dent county.

Mr. Frederick was married in Dent county, October 22, 1899, to Effie Mae Adams. Three children came from this union: Elmer Frederick, of Houston; Homer and Franklin Frederick, of Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by his faithful wife, the three sons mentioned, one grandchild, Betty Jean Frederick; two brothers, John and Claud Frederick, of Heber Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Roberts of Mountain Grove, and Mrs. Addie Robinson, of Houston.

Mr. Frederick professed faith in Christ many years ago at Pleasant Valley Church in Dent county, joined that church, later moving his membership to Central Baptist church, and still later placed his membership in Houston Baptist church, remaining a member until his death, and living an honorable, christian life.

Frank Frederick served in places of public trust, Superintendent of County Home and as a member of the Township Board of Piney township. He was known for his absolute honesty and he stood for those things which was best for the community.

The writer of this has known Frank Frederick since we were young men, and a truer, finer gentleman never lived. The editor joins with the bereaved wife and sons and other relatives in sorrow at the passing of this good man.

Funeral services at the Baptist church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. R. Halbrook; burial in Houston cemetery under direction of Elliott Funeral Home.
