"William L. Gill died in this city this morning at 11 o'clock at the age of 55 years. He was a native of Jackson county and had lived in this city for twelve years. Besides a wife he leaves several children to mourn his death. The funeral will take place from his late residence, 604 Division street, tomorrow afternoon".

Louis was the son of Henry Gill and Martha Louise Whitehead. He was married to Mary Matilda Entrekin, daughter of James Entrekin, who was killed in the Civil War, and Susannah Rice. Both James and Susannah were from Vancleave, Ms.
