Shown as male, white, widowed and wife was not named on the document. Occupation retired, but did not indicate from what proffession. Cause of death listed as result of infirmatis, and partial paralysis. Hard to read the writing, but appears, fall and injury to hip, he fell on the floor while walking hall of ____. Place of birth a bit confusing, as shows Longwood, Petis County which is scratched out, then has Cooper County, MO...just not sure what it is. Fathers name can be made out but the mothers name is very uncertain. The first letter is a R. Looks like Rona?? Cemetery is listed as Co Alms House Cemetery. If people were not familiar with this paticular cemetery they may never find it in a record book...and the fact that Alms House near impossible to make out from the handwriting.

This e-mail has helped clear up some mystery regarding this person. I just love it when at last these lost souls in this cemtery are found and claimed by family. I removed her last name as I did not know if she wanted to be identified.

Dear Judy,
I just wanted to let you know that regarding William Chaney buried at the Alms House Cemt. in Springfield, Greene Co. Mo. the death cert. gives Longwood, Cooper Co. Mo. when in fact it should be Longwood, Pettis Co. Mo.

He is an uncle 4 generations back. I also want to thank you for posting his grave as I could not make out the death certificate regarding the cemetery!!!!
Sincerely, Vicki

William's middle name is "Rector". "Rector" is a family name – William's great grandmother was Elizabeth Rector Hieronymus. Elizabeth was my 4th great grandmother. My great grandmother's name was Nancy Rector Lyons Osborne. William & my great grandmother are only 2 of several Hieronymus descendents who used "Rector" as a middle name. Even more interesting is the fact that William had a younger brother – George Rector Chaney.
