"My Mama...She made the best huckleberry cobbler on God's green earth. She had a really hard life, but she knew how to enjoy it...Mama was married at 16 and gave birth to her first child at age 17. This child only lived to age 20 months due to "summer complaint" as it was sometimes called in those days. It is a terrible thing to lose a child. It must have been doubly terrible for an 18 year old to suffer such grief."
