Alice Mary Ferguson Wright , of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Penhook, Va., on November 16, 1917. Alice was one of 13 children born to Alex and Anna Bell Ferguson. She was a faithful member of the Hales Ford United Methodist Church and New Hope United Methodist Church, Chamblissburg. Cherishing her memory are her loving husband, Rudolph; adoring children, Judith L. Johnson and Melvin "Maurice" Johnson; grandchildren, Antonio Dante, Lekeisha Desiree, Ahsaki Tiombe', Kali Monee, Brandon Lamar, Dominique Maurice, Miranda Nicole; greatgranddaughter, Jordanne Skye; sister, Mazie F. Waller; aunt, Tabitha Dudley; sisters-in-law, Matilda Ferguson, Arletha Wilson, Yvonne Douglas, Bea Young, and Patricia Wright; and brothers-in-law, Randolph Wright and Shelvin Wright. She will be remembered as a gracious aunt and friend by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Rev. Kelvin Edwards Sr. officiating. The interment will be in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chamblissburg, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
