Obituary for Carol Adams
Carol Dean Adams died October 25, 2008 at Sierra Vista Care Facility in Loveland, at 93 years of age. She was the last of ten children born to W.T. (Tom) Elliott and Eliza (Blake) Elliott on Nov. 3, 1914 in LeFlore County, near Talihina, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Osage County, where Carol Dean continued her schooling, graduating from Hominy High School in 1932. She then moved to California, living with relatives and attending Bakersfield, Jr. College. After several years living there, she returned to Oklahoma and married Patrick H. Adams in Hominy on March 27, 1937. They moved back to California where they lived until 1945. Their two daughters were born there. At the close of WWII, they bought a ranch close to Avant, Oklahoma, where they lived and raised their family. In 1961, Patrick took a transfer to Wyoming with Shell Oil Company and lived in the Sheridan and Buffalo areas for over ten years. They later retired to Loveland to be closer to their family.Carol Dean worked for some years as a secretary for the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Tulsa, OK.
