Patrick Henry Adams died March 28, 2006, in Sierra Vista Health Care Facility, Loveland, at the age of 91.

He was born June 22, 1914, one of 10 children born to Henry Robert and Angeline (Foley) Adams in rural Osage County, Okla. He grew up there, graduating from Hominy High School in 1931. He attended college at Central State, Edmond, Okla., and then worked in the family's ranching business for several years.

On March 27, 1937, he married Carol Dean Elliott in Hominy.

They moved to California, where their two daughters were born in Bakersfield, and lived there until the close of World War II in 1945, when they returned to Oklahoma and bought a ranch near Avant.

Patrick, as well as running the ranch, started working for Shell Oil Co. In 1961, he was transferred with Shell to Sheridan, Wyo., where they lived until he retired. In later years, they moved to Colorado to be closer to their family.

Patrick was a life member of the National Rifle Association; a 32nd-degree Mason; a member of Eastern Star; and a member of the Methodist Church. He loved hunting and fishing, growing large gardens, and was a craftsman in carpentry and woodworking. His greatest love and pleasure was just being a cowboy.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Carol Dean; daughters, Angeline Street and husband Floyd, Loveland, and Penny B. Hoyt, Denver; grandchildren, Patrick Street and wife Eileen, Fort Collins, Patrice Pualani and husband Tony, Red Feather Lakes, Brian Hoyt and wife Kathryn, Denver, Adam Hoyt, Columbus, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

There will be a public visitation from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Rest-haven Funeral Home. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m., 8426 S. U.S. 287, Fort Collins, with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
