NORTHPORT Ronald Reed Hughes, age 61, of Northport, died Feb. 9, 2008, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Evelyn Hughes, and brother, James A. Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hughes; daughter, Mary Hughes White; stepdaughter, Angela Haag; son, Todd Hughes; stepson, Charles Haag; brother, Robert Hughes; father, Auvin Hughes; and granddaughter, Naudia White.

Mr. Hughes was in the Air Force Reserved and served in Operation Desert Storm. He was a loving father and husband who had a passion for cooking and yardwork. He worked at the VA Hospital for 21 years on 38 West as an R.N. He leaves behind a large, loving family, and he will be missed greatly.

Pallbearers will be Todd Hughes, Charles Haag, Michael Hughes, Mark Hughes, Matt Hughes, and Britt Wayne Hughes.
