McComb--Lloyd E. Ewing, 86, 108 N. Church St., McComb, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday at Blanchard Valley Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two and one-half weeks.
He was born Oct. 20, 1888 in Pleasant Township, Hancock county to Hiram and Metta (Bolton) Ewing. On June 30, 1917 he married Nellie Zeigler and she died March 27, 1975.
Surviving are two sons, Dean, McComb; Robert, Goshen, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Sara) Nelley, Powell, Wy.; Mrs. Clare (Eunice) Marvin, Bucyrus; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph, Deshler; one sister, Miss Troas Ewing, Deshler.
A retired farmer, he served as Pleasant township clerk for a number of years, taught in the McComb school system, was employed by Grubb Implement Co., McComb, and worked for the circulation department of The Republican-Courier since 1932.
He was a member and ordained elder of McComb United Presbyterian church and also taught Sunday school classes at the church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. James Nye officiating. Burial will be in McComb Union Cemetery.
