Daughter of George and Mary (Wood) Cole.

Graduate of Miss May's School for Girls [now called Brimmer and May School] in Chestnut Hill. Member of the Hingham Yacht Club.

On October 19, 1915, Elizabeth officially unveiled the bust and tablet of John Hancock in Doric Hall, at the Massachusetts State House.

Married first, 1st Lt. Walter Amory (Harvard Class of 1924), on August 25, 1923 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hingham, the ceremony officiated by Reverend Daniel Magruder. They lived in the Syosset section of Long Island, New York. Walter was born on June 13, 1899 and died on October 2, 1937. He was interred at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Married second, Lt. Col./Dr. Hugh Cabot (Harvard Class of 1894/Harvard Medical School 1898), on October 8, 1938 at the New North Church in Hingham, the ceremony officiated by Reverend Curtis T. Spence. Hugh was born on August 11, 1872 and died on August 14, 1945. They lived on Warren Street in Needham, Massachusetts. Hugh had been previously married to Mary Anderson (Boit) Cabot from 1902 until her death in 1936. Hugh died of a coronary attack while sailing with Elizabeth in Frenchman Bay in Maine. He was interred at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Brookline, Massachusetts. Hugh had a twin brother named Philip.

Married third, Capt. William Norman McRoberts, Jr., on November 27, 1948 at the Crothers Chapel of The First Parish in Cambridge, the ceremony officiated by Reverend Wilburn B. Miller. They lived on Brook Street in Wellesley, Massachusetts. William was born in 1892 and died on June 10, 1956. William had twin sons from a previous marriage, William Norman McRoberts, III and Capt. Neal Lane McRoberts.

"McRoberts─In Wellesley, April 28, Elizabeth L. H. (Cole), wife of the late W. Norman McRoberts, mother of Walter Amory & the late John C. Amory. Sister of Morton Cole, and George A. Cole Jr. Also survived by 5 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Memorial services at The Chapel, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Wellesley, on Monday, May 2, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Andrew's Church. Arrangement by J. S.
