Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Clark Armstrong Stone, age 91, of Hillsboro, will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joel Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stone passed away Tuesday, March 10 at her residence.

Mary was born in Manchester, the daughter of the late William Clark and Maude Mae Jones Armstrong. She was a post office clerk for Camp Forrest and enjoyed flower gardening/landscaping, fishing, oil painting, as well as geology.

In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Richard “Dick” Stone; one brother, Robert Edgar Armstrong; sisters, Willie Mae Medley, Evelyn Irene Spears, and Faye Marie Cooper; and her son-in-law, William Alan Bryan. She is survived by one son, Richard Michael (Dee) Stone of Manchester; one daughter, Pamela Ann Bryan of Hillsboro; one brother, Charles Lyndel Armstrong; one sister, Pauline Armstrong Hayward; grandchildren, Carissa Stone-Wheeler and her husband, James, Renee Bryan, Vanessa (William) Guerrette, and Christopher Bryan; great grandchildren, Xavier Wheeler, William Guerrette, IV, and Philip Guerrette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
