JOHN EARDLEY DIES TUESDAY
John Eardley, long time resident of Delta, died in Washington, Utah on last Tuesday, July 22, at the age of 85. He was born in Salt Lake City in 1862, the son of John Eardley and Anna Cross Eardley. The family moved to St. George when he was six years old. In 1884, he married Lottie Law at Beaver and moved to Delta in 1919 where Mrs. Eardley preceded him in Death. In 1924 he married Mrs. Martha N. Wilkins and lived in Delta until just recently. He worked as a freighter, a farmer and also engaged in mining at Shem and Silver Reef. He freighted from the mines to Modena. Surviving are his widow and the following children; Mrs. Ethel Bunker of Delta; John Eardley, St. George; Vern Eardley, Ely, Nevada; Mrs. Lottie Andrews, Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Grace Isaacson, Los Angeles. Funeral services will be held in the Delta First Ward LDS chapel Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Delta cemetery under the direction of L.N. Nickle and Son. Friends may call from 8 to 10 .m. at the Ed Bunker home.
