Thomas Efler, Biddix, 732, of 409 Oakland street, died Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. in a local hospital following an illness of several weeks. He had lived in this vicinity for 13 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Rose Carpenter Biddix; two sons, Roy of Valdese, and Johnny Biddix of Gaffney, S. C.; six daughters, Mrs. Cannie King and Mrs. Ellen Haynes of Gastonia, Mrs. Leonard Burrelson of Charlotte, Mrs. Jim Reed of Kingstree, S. C., Mrs. Annie Keller of Charleston, S. C., and Mrs. J. B. Roberts of HIckory; a sister, Mrs. Carolina Hollifield of Gaffney, S. C.; and 40 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Berry Chapel in Spruce Pine. The Rev. Julius Henaline, pastor of the Tiny Branch Baptist Church at Spruce Pine, will officiate. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery there. The body was to be taken to the home here Thursday morning. The body will be moved to the church at Spruce Pine Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Carothers Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
