Arthur A. Arkwright, 83, long-time resident of Buckeye township, died on Wednesday, May 28 at his home in Arbutus, following a long illness. Mr. Arkwright was born on August 26, 1868, at South Camden and married Miss Elma Smith at Columbia, Ohio on April 2, 1893. They came to Gladwin county in 1910 and have resided here since, with the exception of eight years, which they spent near Atlanta.
Surviving are his wife, Elma; two sons, Cecil , of Lewiston and Leland, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Wilson, of Battle Creek and Mrs. Ivel Dundas, of Arbutus; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Buckeye town hall on Saturday, with the Rev. Henry Kreulen, of Bay City and the Rev. Laurence Evoy, of the Highwood Free Methodist church, officiating, special music was by the Fromer sister. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 06-04/1952 Column - 4 Page - 1
