Edna Lavina June Glover was born in Vale, Butte, South Dakota to Bethel Bates and Mary Ellen (Willey) Glover on June 1, 1893.

She first married Jasper Ely Hammontree on October 11, 1913. J. Ely died April 22, 1954. Edna then married Paul William Heetland on November 2, 1957. Mr. Heetland died April 11, 1966.

Edna had one child, Graham G. Hammontree who was born in Nebraska. Graham died of diphtheria at age 7 on December 21, 1920 in Vale, Butte, South Dakota.

Edna, J. Ely Hammontree and Graham Hammontree are buried in Vale Cemetery (#2) and Paul Heetland is buried in the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Edna and J. Ely worked hard during their marriage and built up a big estate. Every morning she would get up and make baking powder biscuits and gravy with bacon or sausage and eggs and coffee. She had a huge garden and canned everything including mince meat for pies. Her cellar was full. Source: Freda Haskovic who knew her as Aunt Edna.

After Edna married Paul Heetland, they wintered in Texas and spent their summers in Spearfish Canyon.

I think Edna ended up in California after Mr.Heetlands death as she had relatives living there.

This is not her obituary. I haven't had anyone look for it in the local SD papers.
