Mary Ann Wright of near Roseville in Ohio County, died July 8, 1878 of typhoid fever. Mary Ann, wife of Samuel Wright, in the 62nd year of her age, was born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Mattingly. In June of 1840, she married Henry Beavin of Breckinridge County. He died 7 January 1857.
In March 1875, she moved to Hancock County to live with her son-in-law, Charles L. Payne. On May 8, 1878, she married Mr. Wright at St. Lawrence Church.
The morning of July 9th, her remains were taken to St. Lawrence Church for interment in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
