TISON Eleanor S. Tison, 91, long time resident of St. John Park/Jacksonville, FL went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2009.
Born in Sumter County, GA, on December 1, 1917. She married Edwin Sellers Tison (now deceased) on November 3, 1940.
She has 5 children: Susan Farmer of Jacksonville, Tom Tison (Carolyn) of Powell, TN, Wayne Tison (Wanda) of Orange Park, Rebecca Williams (Tom) of Orange Park and Arthur Tison of Jacksonville (deceased), daughter-in-law, Lynn Tison of Jacksonville 12 grandchildren: Chrissy Wollitz, Tom Tison, Scott Williams, Matthew Tison, Catherine Wilkins, James Owens, Robert Farmer, Sarah Pontius, Robert Tison, Melissa Tison, Kevin Tison, and Joshua Tison and 10 great-grandchildren: Austin Wollitz, Emalie Tison, Grey Tison, Thomas-Allan Tison, Cole Wilkins, A. J. Wollitz, Jonathan Tison, Dylan Wilkins, Shelton Tison, and Benjamin Tison.
Dedicated wife, grandmother, mother and friend, faithful Sunday school and church member, active garden cluber. Affectionately called Mrs. "T", Moma "T", Eleanor, or Grandma "T" lived life to the fullest. Mrs. "T" provided a warm welcome, opinions, advice and food to friends and strangers alike. She will be sorely missed by all, our lost is heavens gain.
There will be a memorial service at St. Johns Presbyterian Church, 4275 Herschel Street at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday with a reception to follow at the church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at HARDAGE-GIDDENS TOWN AND COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Johns Presbyterian Church or Community Hospice of Northeast FL.
