Aaron W. Burchell, age 72 years, of Mauston, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston, Wisconsin.

He was born on January 5, 1936 to Harry D. and Iva M. (Straight) Burchell at Hillsboro, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1953 and later obtained a Bachelors Degree in Zoology from the University of Minnesota in 1959. Aaron also served in U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 being stationed in Japan.

Aaron was united in marriage to Karen Knutson on October 5, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota; they recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. He worked many years in St. Paul and later Chicago as a Computer Systems Analyst, retiring to Mauston in 1994. Among the many things he was active in, he served as a Past Master in the Free Masons in St. Paul.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Burchell of Mauston; two children, Jeff (Jennifer) Burchell of Hillsboro and Lenore (Michael) Grafton of Leesburg, Virginia; six grandchildren, Melissa, Justine, Elizabeth, and Hannah Burchell and David and Mark Grafton; and a sister, Beatrice (Richard) Hayden of McFarland.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Donald Ehler officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
