Mr. Hinchman Passes Away - Aged Greenfield Resident Dead After Long Illness
John Hinchman a former resident of Rush County.
Greenfield, IND., July 13 - John Hinchman, an aged resident of this city and a former resident of Rush County, died at 8:30 o'clock last night at the home of his son-in-law Dr. M.M. Adams, after an extended illness. He had been gradually declining for some time.
Mr. Hinchman was eighty-four years, three months and twenty-two days old, and was a native of Monroe County, Virginia. He came to Rush county when he was eighteen years of age and settled in Hancock county in 1862. He leaves five children.
Mr. Hinchman's death was due to inflammation of the bladder. He had been in poor health for fifteen years. He was not a member of any church or lodge.
The funeral service will be held in St. Paul's M.E. church in Rushville, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. V.W. Tevis. The funeral party will leave Greenfield at 11 am going to Rushville via Indianapolis in a special car, which will stop at the M.E. church.
Mr. Hinchman is widely known in Rush County. He was respected by all who knew him, and he possessed many qualities that made him a model citizen.
