Elise Treybig was born in Veilsdorf, Thuringia and died between 1850 and 1860 in Texas. She is believed to be buried in Shelby Cemetery.

Nicolaus, Maria & four children--Friedrich, Caroline, Elise, Bernhardt--emigrated from Veilsdorf, Thuringia, Germany as part of Adelsverein. Sailed from Antwerp 1845 on Nahant; wrecked off coast of Torbay, England. Arrived Galveston 1846. Probably setttled first at Spring near Houston. Another child, Fredericka, born in Texas. Family settled in Austin Co., Buckhorn area by 1850, Shelby by 1853 on 125 acres of land 1/2 mile west. Nicolaus was founding member of Shelby School Assn. Nicolaus & Maria, possibly Elise, believed buried on this site.
