Died from Lymphatic Leukemia, Fatal Blood Stream Malignancy

Mrs. Anna Houdyshell, sixty one, died at the Ellis-Fisher cancer hospital at Columbia a little after noon, Monday. She entered the state institution, suffering with cancer of the blood stream, two weeks prior to her death.
The deceased was born April 6, 1894 in Butler County, Kansas. She was married to William Houdyshell on August 6, 1913 at Russell, Kansas. She came with her husband to Barton County in 1944.
The family resided first on a farm northwest of Irwin, later on a farm near Oakton, moving to a farm four miles northeast of Jasper a year and a half ago. She leaves her husband with three sons, Walter Houdyshell of Jasper, George of Marion, Kansas and David of Carthage and one daughter, Mrs. Martha Berg of Marion, Kansas. One son, Harry, died in military service in 1943. Seven brothers, two sisters and six grandchildren also suirvive.
The last rites were set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Sharp-Selvey Funeral Home in Jasper. Interment follows in Lake Cemetary. Tues. Aug. 2, 1955 - The Daily Democrat - Lamar, Mo.
