Annie met Fred in Wolcott and they were married July 4, 1899 and started a long and happy life together on their farm just a few miles west of Wolcott. They were the parents of three children:

Lenora/14 Feb 1908 m. Fred Terwilliger; 2) Harold Major
Dorothy/26 Oct 1910 m. Merritt L. Ervin
She held on to her English traditions including tea and crumpets/cookies at 2:00 in the afternoon. I remember because, as a child I sat under the kitchen table and received a cookie, while she spoke with my Mom. (Sue)
Obituary:
Mrs. Annie McDuffie passed away Friday evening, 24 Mar 1950 at 5:50 p.m. in Chicago, IL while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Fred Terwilliger.
She was born in England, and as a young lady, came to America with her youngest brother to join her other two brothers. She was married to Fred McDuffie and resided in Wolcott the rest of her life, where the was an active member of the Baptist Church, also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and various other organizations.
Surviving besides her husband, are her son, Charles McDuffie of South Bend, IN, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Terwilliger of Chicago, IL, and Mrs. Merritt Ervin of Gary, IN, nine grandchildren, and two brothers, Alfred Benge of Ormsby, MN and Albert Benge of Merlin, Ontario, Canada.
