Clifford Dean Despain valiantly fulfilled his mission on earth and peacefully passed from this life Tuesday, July 7, 2009, to joyously reunite with his three brothers, Claude LaMar, Carl Jackson and Calvin Despain; mother LaRee Brown Despain and step-nephew Nathaniel James Orren, who preceded him in death.

Dean was born Oct. 29, 1966, in Show Low. He may have been different, yet his feelings were the same. He laughed and cried and took pride in his game. He was sent here among us to teach us to love, as God in His heaven looked down from above.
To Him Dean was no different. His love knows no bounds. It's those here among us in cities and towns that judge by standards that man has imparted. The family he chose helped him to get started.
His many special needs overwhelmed and filled them with despair until they found wonderful people to take over his care. He was among ones so special and few who came here to teach these lessons to you: love is acceptance and must come from your heart. We all have the same purpose, though not the same start.
He is survived by his father and stepmother Claude H. and La Rene Turley Despain; four sisters, Annette (Ron) Smith, Pat (Dan) Jensen, Laura (Nathan) Burk and Brenda (Ed) Thompson; stepsister Julianne (Jim) Orren; three stepbrothers, Ivan, Warren (Nicki) and Gary (Audra) Cusick; and many nieces and nephews.
Dean lived at TLC Supported Living Services in Show Low and was cared for by Hospice Compassus in Lakeside, who lovingly cared for him in his last days.
A memorial service was held Monday, July 13, at the Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor. Interment was held at Show Low City Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor.
