Edgar Rousseau Domingue, dit R.J. was born in Lafayette; and was a descendant of pioneer Spanish Islenos - French Acadian colonial settlers of the early Louisiana territory (1700s). He was the son of Edgar Paul Domingue (1913-1967) and Sarah Ann Prejean (1914-1946); paternal grandson of Jean-Jacques Domingue and Andrea Prejean Domingue; and maternal grandson of Rousseau Prejean and Lorena Castille (all of Lafayette Parish). His ancestral roots ascended to Manuel Dominguez married to Juana Francesca Hernandez Dominguez of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain; Jean Prejean, dit Le Breton married to Andree Marguerite Savoie of France and Acadie (presently Nova Scotia); Joseph Castille (formerly Jose Rafael Ignacio Buenaventura Castell of Menorca, Balearic Islands, Spain) married to Osite Rosette Landry of France and Acadie (Nova Scotia). R.J. Domingue was a 1957 graduate of Carencro High School where he was on the boxing team and played trumpet in the marching band; attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute; worked in oil industry production for many years; and was owner at the time of his death of "A Caring Experience", an animal boarding kennel in Lafayette. He was married to Sandra Sims of Lafayette. He was a horse racing enthusiast who enjoyed raising and racing thoroughbreds, and was an avid sportsman: fishing and hunting. He is survived by: two brothers, Dr. Gerald James Domingue of Zurich, Switzerland and his children of New Orleans (Andrea, Yvonne, Michelle, Gerald, Jr.,Marcel Gerard "Marty");Ronald James Domingue and wife, Annette Leger and daughters,Rona and Ashley of Scott; two sisters: Sarah Ann Domingue and husband David Elroy Citron, III "Rusty" and sons,Christopher Grant and David Edgar,IV (Brooks) of Lafayette, and Madeline Domingue and husband, Marc Breaux and children, Taylor, Kristen and Ross of Carencro; several grandnieces-nephews and a host of Domingue, Prejean and Castille cousins.
