Houston Man Fatally Injured by Blast

Gust A. Johnson Hit on Head by Piece of Timber Lifelong Resident of Village Dies Early Today in La Crosse Hospital.

Houston, Minn. — (Special to The Republican-Herald) — Gust A. Johnson, 51, a lifelong resident of Houston, was fatally injured Monday when he was struck on the head by a piece of timber blasted from a log, and he died at 2 a. m. today at a La Crosse hospital.

Surviving Mr. Johnson, besides his wife, are four children, two brothers and three sisters. Two of the children, Olaf and. Alma, live at home; another, Mrs. Alvln Olson, lives at La Crosse and the other Carl Johnson, Houston, and the sisters are Mrs. Silas Evans and Mrs. Olaf Flom of Dresbach, and Mrs. Obert Hanson, Houston. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the St. Peter's Lutheran church here, the Rev. J. O. Paulsrud officiating, and burial will be in the Stone church cemetery.
