Mrs. Edna Foster Dies in Iowa

Mrs. Edna Foster, 88, a former Brimson area resident, died June 27 at the Onawa Community Memorial Hospital at Whiting, Iowa. A funeral service was held at 10am, June 29 at the Woods Funeral home at Whiting after which the body was taken to the Hamilton church, three miles west of Modena, for a second service on June 30. Burial was in the Hamilton Cemetery.

Mrs. Foster was born in Harrison County, south of Mt. Moriah, the daughter of Albert and Susan Johnson Gibler. The family was living east of Mt. Moriah when her husband George Edgar Foster died in 1917. Shortly after his death she moved with her five children to the Brimson community. She later moved to Whiting, Iowa where she had resided for 30 years.

Survivors include a son, Wade Foster of Whiting; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Hann of Grant City, Mrs. Fred Moss of Laredo, Mrs. Dorlean Hobbs and Mrs. Lenora Seward, both of Whiting; one sister Mrs. Ruby Burke of Mt. Moriah, 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
