Jacob Brown, was the son of Johan Jacob
"Wagonmaker" Brown and Elizabeth Goettgen Brown.

Jacob Brown married Elizabeth Admire, daughter of

MARGARET (COON/KUHN) ADMIRE, on Aug. 29, 1774
in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina.

Jacob served in the Revolutionary War. He was
living in Rowan County, North Carolina when he
enlisted in 1777 and served three months in
Captain Frederick Fisher's Co., Col. Locke's
Regiment. He also served under Commissary
Yarberry, in Salisbury, North Carolina, according
to pension records where he made and repaired
wagons (an occupation he learned from his father).
He was in the second battle of Camden.
Jacob was a Captain, and was at the Kings
Mountain Battle.

The family moved to Washington County, Tennessee
where he purchased land. He deeded land to build
a school house and was a member of the Cherokee
Baptist Church.
Jacob's will was written Feb. 19, 1841.
He named wife, Mary, and children: John, George,
Mary, Nancy Ball, Richard; and step-daughter,
Mary Cloyd. Jacob probably married (2) Mary Polly
Salts on Jan. 23, 1816 in Washington County,
Tennessee.

The Farm was in the Brown Family till the mid
1940's, when it was sold to a Mr. John Hawze.
He died in 2009.
