Floyd Leslie Knapp, 91, of Amboy, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas.

He was born Oct. 23, 1911, at Salt Lick, son of the late Charles E. and Ruhama C. Davis Knapp.

He was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church, where he served as superintendent for nine years. He was a member of the Amboy Quartet for many years. He was a member and served as an officer in the IOOF. He was a deputy assessor for Union District for 20 years and a lifelong farmer.

He is survived by a daughter and spouse, Alice R. and James R. Bolyard, of Amboy; a son and spouse, Donald J. and Toni L. Knapp, of Oakland, Md.; a sister, Armeda Messenger, of Somerset, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Angela Deakyne, Doris Sullivan, Robin Hartman, Teri Bishoff, Shari Mauldin, Tracy Knapp, Donald Knapp Jr., Mark Knapp, Dustyn Knapp, Gina Frazee and Shonna Knapp; three stepgrandchildren, Karen Sue Heavener, Donnie Ashby and Cindy Wade; 11 great-grandchildren, Jamie and Tonya Lower, Joshua and Jennifer Sullivan, Denise Shaffer, Patrick Hartman, Jessica Bishoff, Jonathan and Ashley Mauldin, Marcus Knapp and Rose Anna Bowman; two great-great granddaughters, Alexis Dawn and Caitlin Nicole; and seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Wilma E. Pifer Knapp, on Feb. 24, 2002; an infant daughter, Doris Corrine; a son, John Marklay Knapp; a brother, Clifton E. Knapp; and a great-grandson, Nicholas James Knapp.

Interment will be in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
