Joan A. Ogden, 74, of Leavenworth, formerly of Bellingham, died Monday morning, Feb. 16, 1998, in Parkside Rehab and Care Center in Wenatchee.

She was born on May 27, 1923, to Charles Henry and Daisy (Rowe) Ogden at Metaline Falls, Wash. At the age of 4, she moved with her family to Wenatchee and later to Peshastin, where she received her early education.

Following her father's death in 1939, the family moved to Bellingham. Joan was employed by Whatcom County and later served as Whatcom County auditor for 15 years, retiring in 1989. She then moved to Leavenworth to make her home.

She was a member of the American Business Womens Association.

Survivors include one brother and his wife, George and Mary Ogden of Sweet Home, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Robinson of San Diego, Calif., and Garnet Ogden of Walla Walla; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters and seven brothers.

Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
