The father of three widely seperated children, Mr. Bell only recently was the recipient of numerous well wishes when he celebrated his 83rd birthday on Feb. 15. The end came peacefully which fulfilled physicians and relatives hopes that he might be spared pain. Ill from heart attacks, Mr. Bell was put to bed less than a week ago and death was caused when pneumonia developed.

Mr. Bell married Miss Ruth Lee McCue of Fort Defiance on Oct. 24, 1882, the couple coming to Waynesboro in 1901 where Mr. Bell operated the Bell Grocery Co.
