Betty, 87, Wapakoneta, died at 7:50 p.m., at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.

She was a daughter of Roger L. and Bessie Jane (Parke) Chiles. On Apr 25, 1941, she married James Dearbaugh, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, James Stephen "Steve" (Jacqueline Poling), Van Wert, and Brent Albert (Karen Mertz), New Albany; a daughter, Sue Ellen (Ronald) Kohler, Wapakoneta; a brother, Leo, Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law, Donna Dearbaugh, Wapakoneta; a brother-in-law, Louis Boltz, St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Aaron Joel Kohler, Fort Wayne, IN, Ian Thomas (Danielle Clift) Kohler, Neptune, James Michael (Leslie Darr) Dearbaugh, Canton, MI, Lisa Michelle (Nic) Cocis, Temecula, CA, Kristen Lee (Christopher) Groves, Blacklick, Lesley Kay (Andrew) Thomas, Tampa, Fl, and Beth Ann (Travis) Denman, Denver City, TX; twelve great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kalissa, Sarah, Lilly, Sophia, Fiona, Allison, Emma, Aubrey, Lauren, Samuel and Hailey; and a very speical cousin, Grace Parke Nagel, North Lewisberg.

Deceased are a brother Leroy; and a sister, Millicent Boltz.

Aunt Betty, as a member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, for over 65 years, served as a Sunday School teacher for the Kindergarten class and was a Unit Leader for many of those years. She was a member of the Order fo the Eastern Star Hawthorne Chapter #119 St. Marys (formerly Koneta Chapter #385, Wapakoneta) where she was Worthy Matron in 1954 and again in 1992, served as Secretary for many years and was a faithful attendee of meetings for over 60 years. She served a Chairlady when the Koneta Chapter Eastern Star ladies made and sold their famous mince meat.

She was a 1939 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, and worked for the gas company in St. Marys during her high school days. She continued working with Farm Bureau Insurance, Lima, the Wapakoneta Schools cafeteria at Centnnial school, Sears Catalog store Credit Department Manager, Miller's Laundry and Dry Cleaners bookeeper and for Roger J Henkener, Attorney at Law. She retired in 1982 from the Auglaize County Probate/Juvenile Court as a Deputy Clerk under Judge James I. Shaw.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished family times together. She spent many hours selecting recipes and cooking special dishes for family holiday celebrations. She was passionate about the color purple, her little Longaberger basket purse and red nail polish.

Funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church, Glynwood Rd., Wapakoneta, Pastor R.J. Davis officiating.
