1921 ~ 2003

Rhea LaVerne Mecham passed away July 19, 2003 surrounded by her loving family.

LaVerne was born February 23, 1921 in Mammouth, Utah to James Shepherd and Gertrude Shepherd.

She has two sisters and four brothers. On June 8, 1939 she was sealed for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple to Eldon Russell Mecham. They raised one daughter, Gloria Jean, three sons, LeDale, Ricky Neal, and Mark Leon. (two sons served LDS Missions). Laverne enjoyed playing piano for Relief Society and Primary.

A faithful member of the LDS Church, she worked many years at the Primary Children's Hospital. She loved her home and family.

Laverne is survived by her daughter: Jean (Robert), sons: LeDale (Linda), Rick (Julie), and Mark (Martha), and numerous, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Laverne is reunited with her loving husband, Russell Mecham.

Memorial Services will be held, Monday, July 28, 2003 at 11 a.m., in the Haven Ward 2280 South 300 East. Friends may call, Sunday evening at the Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 East 700 So. from 6-8 p.m. and at the church from 10:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
