Anna's Obituary:
THE LATE MRS. ANNA SPROUT.
Mrs. Anna Sprout was born in Stark County, Ohio, February 19, 1823. She was married to Alexander Sprout in Sandusky county, Ohio, March 19, 1841. In 1843 she and her husband and babe removed to DuPage county Illinois, where they endured the trials incident to pioneer life in that early day.
In 1884, they removed to a farm near Geneva Neb., where they resided until the death of her husband, January 23, 1898. She was the mother of twelve children, seven reaching maturity. Five remain to mourn the death of a devoted mother.
She became a Christian when about twelve years of age and during her long life has taken great pleasure in everything of a religious character. During her long and painful illness, her longing desire has been to be at home with God, and at rest.
She passed quietly away at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 1913, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Cook, at Neligh, Neb., at the ripe old age of 91 years, 6 months, and 1 day. The body arrived in Geneva the evening of August 20, and was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.S. Huston. The funeral took place from the Methodist Episcopal church in Geneva at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. C.L. Myers. The interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
