DYERSVILLE, Iowa -- Carol Ann Huberty, 72, of Dyersville, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, from complications of diabetes.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Phil Kruse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.
She was born on May 22, 1937, in Petersburg, daughter of Clem and Thecla (Gerken) Bruggeman. She married Thomas R. Huberty on July 9, 1955, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death.
Carol retired in 1989 as a supervisor at Modernfold in Dyersville.
She was the loving mother of eight children, Chris (Ruthann), of Solon, Cathy (Neil) Meyers, of Dyersville, Jill (Tim) Breitbach, of Urbandale, Jeff (Mary Anne), of Dyersville, Tammy (Dave) Cisar, of Omaha, Neb., Todd, of Iowa City, Tim, of North Liberty, and Nick, of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; five sisters-in-law, Marita Bruggeman, of Kansas City, Kan., Nancy Bruggeman, of Chicago, Mary (Tom) Williams, of St. Augustine, Fla., Donna (Keith) Klostermann, of Cedar Rapids, and Mary Jane Huberty, of Dyersville; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Huberty, of Coralville.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joe, Leo, Bob and Paul Bruggeman; and two sisters, Rita Murray and Ila Bockenstedt.
