Dorothy L. Horton, age 80, of Crown Point passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, at St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart.
She was born on December 29, 1928 to Hiram and Ella Parrish. Dorothy was a member of Moose Lodge #260 of Crown Point. She enjoyed helping out with fish frys, children's activities and loved to play bingo.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons: Walter J. (Denyse) Horton of Hobart, IN and Michael K. (Deborah) Horton of Crown Point, IN; two sisters: Tinsey (Don) Clark and Nina Dale both of Brownsburg, IN; one grandchild: Christopher (Kelly) Horton; two great grandchildren: Drew and Jase Horton; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Horton; her parents: Hiram and Ella Parrish; three brothers: JB, Junior and Clayton Parrish; and two sisters: Elsie Hauk and Robbie Froedge. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Winfield/ Crown Point, IN. Rev. Gary S. Nagy, officiating.
Interment will be at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Schererville, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2009, from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mooseheart Child City & School, 1555 International Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539.
